Safari Details

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Welcome to Kenya! Karibu Kenya (Swahili translation)
Upon arrival at JKIA you will undergo the usual airport check out process i.e. passport control, baggage and finally customs. Exit the terminal and you will be met by your driver guide/ representative who will transfer you to your hotel for check in and overnight.

Overnight at House of Waine Hotel – Bed and Breakfast

Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve (approx 1 Hour flight)

After sumptuous breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to Wilson Airport to catch the next flight to Samburu National Reserve. This protected area is a piece of gem as you will be left in awe when on game drives. With abundance of special wildlife in this reserve your visit is definitely wort every penny. Wildlife sightings include they Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, Leopard, Grevy’s Zebra and many more. Your driver guide will meet you in the afternoon for your first game drives.

Day 3 & 4: Samburu National Reserve

Spend two full days in the reserve. All game drives are always unlimited. You may opt for early morning and afternoon game drives or carry along picnic meals so that you can enjoy full day game viewing. Always discuss with your drive guide on plans for the next day. You may visit a rich in culture and tradition village (payable extra) on one of these days.

Day 5: Samburu National Reserve – Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Leave your camp after breakfast and proceed to Ol Pejeta Conservancy located in Nanyuki. It is a mosaic of grass plains, wooded grasslands acacia woodland and evergreen thicket extending over 350 square kilometers. The conservancy is the only protected area where you can spot chimpanzees and home to the last two Northern White Rhinos left in the world. Wildlife include the rare African wild dog, vervet monkey, giraffes just to mention a few as well as over 300 species of birds.

Day 6: Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Spend a full day in the conservancy. Spend as much time as possible on game drives or you may take part in activities such as a visit of Baraka – the blind rhino or get up close to the 2 remaining northern white rhinos. All these extras are payable extra.

Day 7: Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Lake Naivasha

Final early morning game drives if necessary before you proceed to Lake Naivasha. Lake Naivasha is a fresh water lake which is home to over 1500 hippopotamus and flocks of flamingos as well as a birder’s paradise with over 500 species of birds found in this area. You can visit the Hell’s Gate National Park or might want to go mountain hiking at Mt. Longonot. Enjoy a boat ride and a walk on Crescent Island then return to the camp for overnight.

Day 8: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara

After breakfast embark on a road journey to the highlight of Kenya – Masai Mara National Reserve – by driving along the Rift Valley. This trip will take you approximately 4 hours to reach your next destination – The Governor’s Il Moran Camp. Mara (dotted Savannah translated) area is slightly over 1500 square kilometers where a lot of game sighting is observed. On a good day your bucket list can be fully checked by the time you return to your camp for overnight. It is the dream of every traveller to experience such a phenomena while on safari – the Great Migration – where millions of wildebeests, zebras and other animals cross rivers and move around the savanna grasslands in search of grass and water. The migration takes place between July and October every year. Some of these animals don’t make a full cycle of the ecosystem as they die at river crossings as a result of hungry Nile crocodiles who hide under the famous Mara River. It is a time when the big cat actions catch the attention of not only the photographers but also other tourists.

Day 9 & 11: Masai Mara National Reserve

All these days will be spent in the reserve. All game drives for these days will be unlimited. Optional game drives i.e. morning and evening or full day. One of the days visit a Maasai Village to learn more about the Maa community, their culture, traditions and way of life. Enjoy a Sundowner on the last day as you gaze the beautiful sunsets.

Day 12: Masai Mara National Reserve – Nairobi

If necessary you will perform your final early morning game drives before being dropped of at the camp by your driver guide. Your driver guide will empty run back to Nairobi with your excess luggage and meet him later in the afternoon in Nairobi. You will be transferred to shopping spots as you may want to promote local traders incase you want to get yourself handmade artifacts and souvenirs amongst other things. Proceed for dinner afterwards and then you will be transferred to your hotel for overnight.

Day 13: Nairobi (Day Room use) – Home country

Final day in Nairobi. You have a day room at the House of Waine as you prepare for your flight back to your home country. We will transfer you on time to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound international flight.
