Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Welcome to Kenya!

After arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, our driver/tour guide/ airport representative will transport you to your hotel in Nairobi. Depending on your arrival time, the biggest city in East and Central Africa has numerous activities that you might want to participate in. You can spend the afternoon and/or evening resting or use the time to explore the bustling central hub of Kenya by visiting one of the city’s famous flea markets or eating out at an authentic Kenyan restaurant. The world’s only city neighboring a national park you are guaranteed a glimpse of what’s awaiting you in the coming days of your safari. Overnight at Karen Gables Residence (Bed and Breakfast)

Day 2: Nairobi

After breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your accommodation at 08:30HRS and drive you the Giraffe Center and face the endangered species – Rotschild Giraffe – eye to eye. After an hour or so of interaction with the tall creatures you will then proceed to the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. Between 11am and 12pm, you get to know the elephant orphans and their caregivers and will receive much information about the elephants and the project.

Afterwards you will have lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant (payable direct). Time allowing you may visit the Nairobi National Museum and get informed about the history of this beautiful country. The eventful day comes to an end and you can still pass the day reminiscing comfortably. Overnight at Karen Gables ( Bed and Breakfast)

Day 3: Nairobi – Samburu ( approximately 60 minutes flight)

You adventure and exploration of the country begins on this third day. You will be picked up from your hotel at 08:30HRS and transferred to Wilson Airport where you will catch your domestic flight that will fly you to your first wildlife paradise – the Samburu National Reserve – which is home to the Beisa Oryx, the Gerenuk, Grevy Zebra and the free roaming gentle giants – the African elephant. You will also be able to spot the endangered reticulated giraffes in this national reserve. Upon landing at Kalama Airstrip approximately at 11:20HRS you will be picked up and transferred to Elephant Bedroom Camp by the camp vehicle. Day 4 & 5: Samburu

All days in Samburu National Reserve. Optional early morning and afternoon game drives or spend a full day out in the wild in search of wildlife – of course picnic breakfast and lunch will be organized for you if are going to spend a full day in the bush in search of wildlife. Day 6: Samburu – Nanyuki ( Ol Pejeta Conservancy)

You will be offered an early morning game drive before you bid farewell to the Samburu National Reserve after breakfast. Drive for approximately 3 hours to the equator town of Nanyuki. Arrive in time for lunch at Kicheche Laikipia Camp. After check in and a delicious lunch meal relax a bit as you familiarize yourself with your accommodation camp and general information about Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Your first game drives will take place in the afternoon. In this private wildlife conversation you will have a chance to observe the endangered Northern White rhino, chimpanzees and variety of bird species found here like the kori bustard and the colorful national bird of Kenya – the lilac breasted roller. Day 7 & 8: Nanyuki ( Ol Pejeta Conservancy)

All day with unlimited game drives. You could visit the chimpanzees on one of these days, spend time with the blind rhino called Baraka, get to know and meet the last known northern white rhino (highly protected therefore to see him, an entry fee is required) – this can be organized prior to commencement of your safari, however your driver guide is at your disposal to assist if at all you would like to pay directly. Plan with your driver guide on game drives and activities for these days. All meals and overnights at Kicheche Laikipia Camp.

Day 9: Nanyuki (Ol Pejeta Conservancy) – Naivasha

Wind up your visit of this magnificent conservation project by going for a final early morning game drive if necessary. After breakfast proceed to Naivasha to arrive in time for lunch at Enashipai Resort and Spa. Time to relax and unwind at this serene lodge located just nearby Lake Naivasha after nine days of intense game rives and wildlife observation. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake, outside the town of Naivasha in Nakuru County, which lies north west of Nairobi. It is part of the Great Rift Valley. The name derives from the local Maasai name Nai’posha, meaning “rough water” because of the sudden storms which can arise. Ideal for birding enthusiasts you will observe lots of bird species in this lake region including the African Fish Eagle, Egyptian goose, as well as migratory birds. Afternoon at leisure however your driver guide is always at your disposal. Other activities you could take part in (payable extra) include boat ride and a guided walk on the Crescent Island, a visit to the Hell‘s Gate National Park or even take a hike on Mount Longonot. Day 10: Naivasha – Maasai Mara (approximately 4 ½ hours drive)

After breakfast embark on a 4 ½ hours drive to the highlight of the country, the Greatest Maasai Mara National Reserve. Maasai Mara National Reserve is one of the largest game reserves in Kenya, widely considered to be Africa’s greatest wildlife reserve (also known as Masai Mara and by the locals as The Mara). Maasai Mara National Reserve stretches 1,510 square kilometers (580 square miles) and raises 1,500-2,170 meters (4920-7120 feet) above sea level. Contiguous with the plains of the Serengeti, the Mara is home to a breathtaking array of life. The Mara Game Reserve is known all over the world for a wide range of wild animals such as the ” big five ” (lion, leopard, African elephant, cape buffalo, and black rhinoceros) and other popular species like zebra, giraffe, hyena, cheetah, wildebeest, eland and Thomson’s gazelle. The Greatest Wildlife Migration – one of the Wonders of the World takes place in this region between the months of July and September. Day 11,12&13 Maasai Mara

Collect as many good memories out of these three days as possible. Discuss with your driver guide in advance about game drives for these days. All game drives are always unlimited. Explore this reserve where breath taking moments can be recorded for future memories. Most of the big cats are resident in this conservation area. Lots of action and attractions await you in the famous Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Day 14 Maasai Mara – Nairobi – Home Country

Prepare for your flight back to Nairobi. After breakfast hand over your excess luggage to your driver guide who will empty run back to Nairobi. Camp vehicle will transfer you on time to Musiara Airstrip to catch your flight back to Nairobi. Your driver guide picks you up from Wilson Airport and transfers you to the Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Airport Hotel for day room. The relax and recall the memories you made during your trip. The hotel then transfers you on time to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound international flight.
